I’ll keep it real simple! You need to go make these brain and heart-healthy breakfast cups right now. Loaded with chia seeds, chocolate, and peanut butter this is a nutrient-dense and easy breakfast.

In addition to its health properties (more on that below) they are super delicious, without the guilt! Perfect for breakfast, as a snack or post-workout meal. They are rich in healthy fats and would make a great after school treat for the kiddos.

Confession, I actually ate these before my kids got home because they were so good. So don’t tell them ok!

We ended up having a pretty crazy week. With school ending and summer break starting and it was already a hectic end to June. Then Micah, my little guy, went and broke his leg! Just in time for our cottage trip. You know the cottage on the LAKE! My heart is broken for him, obviously because he is in pain, but mostly because he will be missing out on some fun. A total water baby, I can’t imagine that just watching his brothers jump in and out of the lake to be much fun. But, with all the other cottage activities I am confident we can keep him entertained..and away from the lake!

I plan on making these up there and they will be the perfect treat after a day on the lake. My older boys have the best time. Canoeing, swimming, boating, eating ice cream and playing with their cousins. We are lucky to get these summer days with family.

Anyways, here is the recipe for these super easy peanut butter chia cups. You can use any peanut butter but I LOVE a good crunchy one. And for the yogurt my fav is coconut but my older son is not a coconut fan so I make his with soy or almond yogurt. If you are in a rush you can let the chia sit in the yogurt for an hour instead of overnight, but overnight (or 4 hours) is best if you can spare the time.

Easy Breakfast Peanut Butter Chia Cups

Prep time




  • 6 tbs chia seeds

  • 3 cups coconut yogurt

  • 2 tbs cocoa powder

  • 1 cup peanut butter

  • 2 tbs maple syrup or honey

  • Sliced banana and shaved dark chocolate as toppings


  • Divide the yogurt into 2 bowl. Then to one add the cocoa powder and mix well. Add 3 tbs of chia seeds into each bowl and mix until well combined. Let it set in the fridge for a minimum of 1 hour, preferably 4 hours or overnight.
  • Then in a tall cup layer the peanut butter and each of the chia puddings.
  • Top with banana and chocolate and drizzle with maple syrup or honey.
  • Enjoy!
